An invitation to hear Sam Furphy

Sam Furphy, author of the recently published biography Edward M Curr and the Tide of History will be Guest Speaker at the next meeting of the Murchison Historical Society on Thursday 26th September at 7.30 pm in the Murchison Heritage Centre, 4 Stevenson Street Murchison.

Edward Curr was a pioneer in our region and wrote ‘Recollections of Squatting in Victoria’ a valuable historic record of central Victoria in the 1840’s. Drawn on his personal diaries and memories Curr provided a detailed record of his observations of the Aboriginal people when very few written accounts existed. Sam Furphy’s book tells the story of the life of this notable man and the legacy of his memoirs.

Members of the public are welcome to attend. Supper will follow the meeting, kindly RSVP to assist with catering:
